Irisity AB: Marcus Bäcklund will step down as CEO of Irisity in 2023.

During Marcus’ leadership, Irisity has had a strong development and has become a leading international player in AI-based analytics for security.

The board is now starting the recruitment process to find a new CEO. Marcus will remain as CEO until a new CEO is recruited and will actively assist the company during this transition period.

”Marcus, together with his team, laid the foundation for the strategic direction that, together with the important acquisition of Agent VI, has taken Irisity to the current strong international position the company has. A development made possible by Marcus’ strong drive and commitment. I and everyone on the board would like to warmly thank Marcus for his valuable contributions to Irisity and for his responsibility to make the transition to a new leader for the company as smooth as possible,” says Lennart Svantesson, chairman of the board of Irisity.

At the same time, the board of Irisity, together with Marcus and the management, has laid down a focused strategy towards the three verticals; Education, Rail, and Monitoring Centers to further increase the company’s competitiveness and growth. Within these verticals, Irisity continues to develop solutions based on the company’s advanced algorithms in combination with technologies such as anonymization and ”embedded” camera solutions. The board takes a very positive view of the potential released through this focused strategy, continues Lennart Svantesson.
